British Columbia issues 146 invitations for immigration

The latest draw, (which took place on March 21st 2018) BCPNP or the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program took the time to issue 146 new invites. Not the kind to the embassy ball, but the kind that allows for people and hopeful immigrants to apply for a nomination (provincial). The invites went out to students who have graduated or about to, skilled workers and established entrepreneurs, all of whom have shown interest in permanently settling in the area.
British Columbia is looking for new skilled workers to fill in the large number of vacancies that they have and is hoping that by this step and more to follow, they will be able to fill in these empty posts as well as create new ones to assist the growth of the economy. Suffering from an ageing population, the idea is that young driven people can revive the area and keep it as a force to reckon with. Therefore it has issues invitation through the following:
1)Skill based immigration
2)Express Entry
3)Entrepreneur

For a quick look at how these invitations will impact the recipients, under the CRS or the Comprehensive Ranking System these invitations or nominations result in the invitees receiving 600 points on top of what they already qualify for. This applies to the skilled worker and the graduates category. Kindly note that the graduates invited and those who seek to apply need to have an internationally recognised degree.
Applications for PR or permanent residence will be processed outside the express system, in case the candidates have received an invitation under the skill based immigration categories, once their nomination has been confirmed.
In case an individual is interested in learning more about this invitation process, it is a good idea to go to the BC PNP portal and start by creating a profile. It may be of some use to have a good immigration consultant to help with the filling of the sections in the form. Also note that one must have a job offer for a full time position from a BC employer.
