Emigrating to South Australia
South Australia is proving to be a popular destination for those who wish to emigrate to a place of more opportunity and promise of growth. For those who wish to move there for working and career purposes, it is necessary to understand that there are categories in the state nomination list.
- Occupations nominated by the State
These are the priority occupations that the country considers that it needs, and these people will get invited under this category for a skilled nominated visa. This list is amended from time to time as the needs to the country change, depending on the numbers of people it has fulfilling its requirements.
- Supplementary Skilled List
This reflects short term needs of the country and are subject to more criteria that the previous list. There are those who are
- Hold an international graduate degree from South Australia (should have studied a degree in the country)
- Have worked for the last 12 months in the particular skilled field.
- Have immediate family residing in the country already for a year or more
- The higher the points they have, the better.
If this is the list that you are applying under there are a few points that it would serve you to keep in mind as you go through the application process.
Make sure you have the requisite number of points, it is about 90 now, so 90 and higher is a good number, once you have the points, you can apply for the visa under 489 or the 190. Submit the requested documents online, this is needed to verify the points that have been claimed. Make sure that you have done your research thoroughly and that there are no impediments in your way. It would be a shame to spend all that time and money and then find that the job you have applied for is the reason you are not getting your visa.
